                             HOME!

Good to be home.  I'd forgotten what it was like to drive in L.A. traffic.

The first order of business was to feed Quincy and then let the Boys go swimming.  They were in the pool for almost 2 hours.  They missed it.

Good to be home.  Thanks to everyone for visiting the BLOG.  We had a great time.

My Hydroponics Greenhouse did great while we were gone.  I lost the Strawberries (not sure why), but the Tomatoes, Peppers, and Cucumbers are all doing super.  Home grown Veggies (and Strawberries if I can get a new crop in soon) this winter.

One Last Thought:

We put men on the moon.  Everyone uses the Moon as the pinnacle of technology, and rightly so...  but I digress.

So with all this skill and advanced ability, why can't the human race join to sections of Concrete (or Asphalt) on a highway and make it smooth enough so it doesn't jar the fillings out of your teeth when you drive over it????

The BLOG is down for awhile.  We'll start it up again on the next trip.  I'll let you all know when.

Uggggghhhh! ! ! ! ! !

Tough day.

We started out thinking abut a drive day that was going to be long, but not unrealistic.  Mt. Shasta City, California (just north of Redding) to about Los Banos, California, (south and west of Stockton - mid state).  That would have made the drive about 320 miles or so, a normal drive day (maybe a bit longer than normal).

As it happens, the closer to HOME we get, the more we want to get there, so we decided to "push" it a bit.  We drove to an RV Park 8 miles east of Bakersfield, California...  about 500 miles.  A very long drive day for us.

Interesting Note:  Question...  What are the two things that Bakersfield are known for?

Answer:  (1)  Merle Haggard (Country & Western Pioneer) is from there
             (2)  That is where the "Shit House", excuse me... the Portable Toilet, was made that saved Tom Hanks from the "Cast-a-Way" Island.

You can never have to much information!

The good news...  We only have about a 2 hour drive tomorrow and we'll be home.  If we plan it right, we won't even run into the normal Sunday, "Come back into Los Angeles", traffic.

By the way...  I was under the impression that the state of California was in deep financial trouble.  That may be, however, there is massive road work being performed along the entire length of Interstate 5, and the portion of Route 99 that we drove.  There were so many Orange flags, signs, cones, and vehicles, that I thought the entire state was celebrating Halloween.  The one thing I didn't see was people working???  Booooo!

Home tomorrow.  Stay with us one more day.
