The day started nice and slow. A nice change after the last few days.
We met as a group this morning to decide what the agenda was going to be for the week. Bev and Tom have spent a great deal of time in planning and research for this week. It has obviously paid off. Everyone is pleased with the plans that they have put together. You'll find out what they are as we go along.
Today is kind of a free day, with dinner planned for this evening.
Bev, Tom, Lauri and I set out to have some lunch and visit the local Winery. "Red ASS" Winery
is our focus for today. They specialize in "Fruit" flavored wines.
Their signature wine is Red Rhubarb, which is a blend of Rhubarb (Yeah?)
and Cab. I didn't have any, but Lauri said it tasted like... Red Wine with Rhubarb mixed in. go figure.We ate lunch at the small cafe located on the Winery property, and had a very good 'Corn Chowder'
With wine tasting and lunch, we got back to the RV Park about 3:30ish. We set about cleaning up and taking a little rest before we left for dinner. When I got up from the short nap, my back was giving me fits, and i begged off the dinner outing, If rthe truth were really known, the menu for the evening contained only 3 "Fixed" items'
1) A LARGE Filet , 2) A Small Filet, 3) A Vegan meal
I decided to pass, and use my back as an excuse (it really was bothering me a lot) to beg off.going.
As it turned out, the first restaurant gave our 20 person reservation away. That put a stop to having dinner there... and pissed off most of our group. The restaurant was VERY UNACCOMMODATING for their mistake.
Fortunately, a restaurant down the street could accommodate us and we went there and had a terrific meal. We recommend the "Cute Rooster Restaurant". The meals came out on time and together, There was plenty of food and all there said it was quite good. I personally saw a 5 Jumbo Shrimp dinner, that look like 5 small Lobster. Everyone was please.Back at camp, some of use gathered around the fire and told some lies as usual. I went to bed.
