Wheels up at 12:20p, almost an hour late.  Smooth flight till very near touchdown and it got a bit bumpy.  My new seat assignment, from a window on the 7:50a flight to a Center Seat on the 11:35/now 12:20 flight, was OK thanks to my weight loss.  In the old days, it would have been miserable.

Arrived at Denver International, and because I was in row 8, I got off....  make that disembarked, quickly.  The first thing I noticed as I was walking up the corridor from the plane, is that the corridor had no A/C and it was a bit warm.  The A/C air of the terminal was a nice relief from the 45 seconds of warn air in the Flight-way (whatever it's called).

Headed for the "Baggage Pickup" and got lost.  Hey, Denver is a confusing airport!  I finally figured it out...  After I asked someone how to get to "Baggage Pickup".  He said I needed to get on the TRAIN...  Sure, that makes sense, since the sign said "Train to  Terminals A, C, and Baggage Pickup".  Yeah...  that's easy.

Not so...  There are 20+ Baggage Return styles...  Which one is mine.  I wasn't listening to the Flight Attendant when he told us the number, along with all that other crap about opening the overhead bins, and connecting flights, and being curtious to passengers that may have short time connections, and the number of our Baggage Pickup...

I see a sign that says United Air Lines Baggage Pickups 16 - 21 and a arrow pointing me the way.  I'm home free.  Down the escalator I go, knowing all the bad stuff is behind me.  I see the 16 - 22 arrow poining at a line of styles.  I go looking for mine.  Not to be found.  Nope...  I found my bag on #14...  Not even one that was supposed to be United's.

I grab my bag, and call the Super 8 hotel to arrange for my shuttle.  The very nice yough lady determined I was in the "West" terminal and gave me instructions to, "Go out door #506, cross the streets to island #3".  The shuttle will be there shortly.  "OK...", I said and began looking for Door #506.

After asking where I could fine Door #506, and being told it was back the way I came, I found it and went outside...  and I was hit in the face with air the temperature of HELL!  It was HOT!!!

I struggled across the streets, wondering if I was going to pass out.  I was breathing hard and sweating when I got to Island #3 where the sign said "Hotel Pick-up".  No shade.  I wait...  and wait...  and wait...  for almost 45 minutes, that seemed like 45 hours.

We got to the hotel, I check in, and got to my room.  Turned on the A/C, and was feeling better.  Nice Room...  King bed, couch and easy chair, computer desk with plugs and phone.  Plenty of room for my "charges", so I can get ready for the big day tomorrow.

I decide to connect to the Internet and do some BLOG work.  The Super 8 Internet is FREE & FAST according to their ad.  When I log in, there were 8 separate connection ports, ranging from 1 bar to 6 bars of signal strength.  After an hour of trying to connect (to any/all of them), NONE would work for me. I am now connected to the "Best Western" Internet with 1 bar of signal strength...  and it seems to be working just fine and fast.

I'm sitting here, finishing this edition of the BLOG, trying to decide (now 6:30p) if I want to go out into that heat again to find some dinner.  I'm hungry, and don't really have a choice.  Damn...  It's HOT here.  The chase vans better be A/C'ed.

See you all tomorrow evening for a recap of "Day #1"
