Well my friends, I'm off on my Great Adventure. Well sorta...
I'm at the John Wayne Airport, waiting for my flight to board. Well sorta...
My flight, UA #364, was scheduled for 0750 (that's 7:50am for you that don't get Zulu time), however, after spilling coffee on myself just after leaving our house, and needing to return to change shirts and get a coffee cup that didn't leak, we were a bit late at Wayne.
When I got here, knowing I could use my secrete weapon to save time, the "Outside" SkyCap, to check my luggage, I found it closed. So inside I go. I get in a very long line to check in. I get to the "Automatic Check-In" computer, and of course, it doesn't know me, or at least, it won't let me check in. I get help from an attendant.
The attendant informs me that I'm to close to flight time, and the computer has "Locked" him out for my check-in. He says he believes he can get me on my flight if I can carry my luggage on. "What?" "No, I can't do that..." Well then I can get you on the next flight out", he says. "Fine...", I say, "When will that be leaving?" "1135...", he informs me.
So, here I sit... At Javi's (inside the air port), sipping on a Bloody Mary (extra Hot), killing time and waiting for my 11 o'clock boarding time on UA Flight #304
It's OK... I didn't have anything to do in Denver this afternoon anyway... And besides, I can't check in to the "Super 8" till 1500 (yeah... 3:00pm).
