Lauri and I have decided to return to Mt. Rushmore, to see the monument during the day time. It's been 60 years (damn... that sounds like a very long time. It sounds like something a very old person would say.) since I was last their, and I'm really excited about the return visit.
It's a beautiful day, and we couldn't ask for better weather. The monument is sparkling bring in the noon day sun. The crowd is very light due to the lateness of the season, No kids at all... school is back in session everywhere by now.
There isn't to many different ways to show photographs of this magnificent rock carving. The photo on the left is framed by the arch way that leads to the "Grand View Terrace". It seemed nice to show the sculpture that way. The second is just a normal shot of the four Presidents enshrined on Mt. Rushmore. No picture can capture the sale of this fantastic tribute to these very special Presidents.
One note... The atmosphere is reverent. You could hear a pin drop anywhere on the complex.
Had to be back at camp for the final "Group Event" of the week. You'll never guess, so i'll just blert it out...

That's right fans... Just like in school on Senior Fun Night.

The Hay Ride took about an hour. We were pulled all around Custer Park, mostly on dirt roads. We sang many old favorites and learned about local history and lore. We were able to see several different animals on the way. Eventually we got to the Chuck Wagon Feast of Steak and Fix'ns

All in all, it was a good time for the last night out. The girls were having a good time!
